Visiting NYC

NYC has just about every type of activity you can imagine to offer. Below we've highlighted a few options in the neighborhood that we think are particularly wonderful.

The High Line
The High Line might be the most innovative city park in the entire world. A former elevated industrial railroad, abandoned in 1980, the High Line was resurrected to become an elevated public park. Do not miss the chance to walk the High Line.
Chelsea Art Galleries
Chelsea has the highest concentration of art galleries in the world. Most are free. On Thursday nights you’ll typically find dozens of openings with free wine and beer.
Chelsea Market
This former meat factory now houses charming shops, great food, Google, and tourists. For good reason, it is worth a visit.
The Rubin Museum
The Rubin is a small NYC art museum featuring art of the Himalayas. It is designed to address the interests of the general public as well as Himalayan connoisseurs. One can tour every exhibit in the Rubin in around 2 hours.
Housing Works Thrift Shop
The Housing Works thrift shop is one of the best thrift shops in NYC -- high end Manhattan cast-offs. The organization is dedicated to fighting homelessness and AIDS, and is widely renowned as a non-profit that is very successful in making a difference.
